Webinar abstract:

Getting your first PCB manufactured is an exciting milestone, but the process can feel overwhelming without the right guidance. To avoid expensive mistakes and delays, you need to follow best design practices and understand how to work effectively with a PCB manufacturer.

In this webinar, you’ll learn how to get your PCB fabricated efficiently—from choosing the right manufacturer to perfecting your design.

How to get a perfect PCB manufactured

While choosing a manufacturer evaluate key factors such as cost, turnaround time, and manufacturer’s capability. A fast turnaround is important for tight schedules, however, never compromise on quality. Compare quotes from multiple vendors, and check their certifications and customer feedback.

Register now!

It’s important to ensure the manufacturer’s equipment and expertise match your design requirements. Analyze their technical capabilities, such as minimum trace width, hole size, annular ring diameters, and layer count.

Clear communication with your CM is a key factor. During this webinar, we’ll give you a detailed checklist that includes the things you need to submit to your CM. You need to ensure all the files are in the correct format and provide clear details, like layer stack-ups, netlists, and test points.

Material selection is a critical aspect of your circuit design. Consider thermal performance, electrical properties, and the PCB material cost. Discuss the available options with your manufacturer to make the best choice.

Plan your stack-up carefully to achieve the desired impedance. Choose the right number of layers and avoid placing adjacent signal planes to minimize interference. Collaborate with your CM to validate the stack-up for manufacturability.

Pay close attention to the solder mask and silkscreen design. Ensure at least 1 mil of solder mask coverage to prevent unintended electrical connections between copper features.

Follow design for manufacturing (DFM) guidelines and make sure the trace widths, pad sizes, and annular rings align with your manufacturer’s capabilities. Have at least 8 mil of drill to copper and 7 mil of copper to the board edge clearances.

Stick to design for assembly (DFA) rules for an efficient PCB assembly. Position shorter components in front of taller ones to prevent shadowing. Maintain at least 10 mil of component courtyard clearance, and avoid placing sensitive components near heat-prone areas.

Join this PCB design and manufacturing webinar to learn the best design practices and get your board manufactured perfectly.
